We have opened up our submissions period for next year's festival!
Submission deadline is May 1st, 2009.
The festival dates are: July 16-26, 2009.
Our 13th edition will continue to feature the very best in comedy short film programming from around the world and from international caliber local filmmakers as well as star-studded red carpet feature film screenings.
New for next year, we are looking to expand our independent feature film programming.

We are excited to announce the following:
- Along with director Chaz Throne and Jay Baruchel, Damages star, Rose Byrne was in town for the screening of Just Buried, July 12, 9:30!
- Academy Award nominee William H. Macy was in Montreal on Thursday, July 10th to introduce his new film, The Deal and moderate the Q & A session afterward.
- Writer Kirk De Micco makes his directorial debut with the highly anticipated animated feature, Space Chimps. Mr. De Micco will be on hand July 16 at 7:00 PM to introduce his film.
- The 2008 Just For Laughs Film Festival Jury has been announced. This year’s jury includes five personalities from the film and comedy industries, including Mike Ward (comedian), Maxim Martin (comedian), Lucas Carter (Director of Production and Development, The Weinstein Company), Sara May (Acquisitions, North American Feature Films, TF1) and David Greenbaum (Vice President, Production and Development, Miramax Films).
Join us at the VISA® screen at the Imperial Theatre and the Cineplex Quartier Latin for a great line up of features and at the Studio Hydro-Québéc of the Monument-National to see more than 125 of the best short films from 16 countries hosted by some of your favourite comedians.
Also, this year we’ve brought some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters to town for the inaugural Just For Laughs industry conference, Just Comedy, an Achilles Media and Just For Laughs event.
