Rules

Look-Alike contest rules

  1. The 2008 Twins Weekend Look-alike Contest is open to all Twins, Triplets and more (hereafter referred to as Twins) registered and participating in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008. No minimum age required, no purchase necessary and a birth certificate is required upon request.
  2. In order to be eligible for the Look-alike Contest, Twins must register by calling 1 800 9DOUBLE or by registering through the Twins Website hahaha.com/double before Wednesday, June 25, and must participate in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 4:45 PM.
  3. The deadline for entering the Look-alike Contest is June 25, 2008 at 10 PM.
  4. The finalists will be selected by the number of votes received on hahaha.com/twins between July 2 and July 9, 2008.
  5. The three finalists from each category of the Look-alike Contest will parade at the Twins site Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11:30 AM.
  6. The winning sets of the Look-alike Contest will be announced at the Twins site on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 7 PM.

Costume contest rules

  1. The 2008 Twins Weekend Costume Contest is open to all Twins, Triplets and more (hereafter referred to as Twins) who are costumed, registered and are participating in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008. No minimum age required, no purchase necessary and a birth certificate is required upon request.
  2. In order to be eligible for the contest, Twins must register by calling 1 800 9DOUBLE and participate in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 4:45 PM.
  3. The deadline for entering the contest is Saturday, July 12 at 13:30 PM at the Twins site.
  4. The finalists from each age category of the Costume Contest will be chosen on Saturday, July 12, 2008, by a jury, between 11 am and 4 pm.
  5. The three finalists chosen by the jury, by age category, will parade on Saturday, July 12 at 7 PM at the Twins site.
  6. The winning couples of the Costume Contest will be announced at the Twins site on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 7 PM.
  7. 2 gift certificates from Voyages Port-de-Mer, total value of $1000, will be won by one of the winning finalists couples.

Participation Contest - Grand Prize

  1. The 2008 Twins Weekend Participation Contest is open to all Twins, Triplets and more (hereafter referred to as Twins), registered and participating in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008. No minimum age required, no purchase necessary and a birth certificate is required upon request.
  2. Participant prizes include the following :
    • 2 all inclusive trips for 2 people to Cuba, total value of $6700.
    • 2 nights stay at the Delta Montréal including breakfast, dinner and massage for 2 people, $1200 value.
    • And many more prizes to be won.
  3. In order to be eligible for the first Grand Prize, an all-inclusive trip for two to Cuba, of a $3200 value, Twins must register, before July 9, 2008 by calling 1 800 9DOUBLE and participate in the Twins Parade on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 4:45 PM.
  4. In order to be eligible for the second Grand Prize awarded an all-inclusive trip for two to Cuba, of a $3500 value, Twins must confirm their presence before noon on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Twins site's registration desk.
  5. The trips include:
    • Flight to and from Montreal (Trudeau) with Cubana de Aviacion Airlines.
    • The first trip includes 7 nights in a standard, double occupancy room at Playa Costa Verde, all inclusive (AI), Hotel, Holguin, Cuba. A value of $3200.
    • The second trip includes 7 nights in a standard, double occupancy room at Playa Pesquero, all inclusive (AI), Hotel, Holguin, Cuba. A value of $3500.
    • The two trips are travel packages with a total value of $6700.
    • Transportation to and from HOE airport and the hotel are included.

Certain conditions apply:

  1. The winner may claim their prize up to one year after the contest date and exclusively during low season: between September 3 and December 15, 2008 and between May 1st and June 15, 2009.
  2. The services can vary depending on the hotel and the destination.
  3. The reservation and other travel arrangements must be made at least two months before the departure date.
  4. The taxes and other trip surcharges (OPC) will be paid by the winners.
  5. The prize no cash value is not returnable or transferable.
  6. No changes may be made to the date once the reservations have been completed.
  7. All expenses acquired outside those mentioned in the trip description are the responsibility of the winner or those travelling with him.
  8. The offer excludes Cuba's departure taxes payable on location in pesos equivalent to CUC 25.00 insurances and personals expenses.
  9. All VaraPlaya Tours general conditions are applicable. A copy is available in their brochures.
  10. VaraPlaya Tours takes no responsibility for lost, stolen, damaged, charges or expenses incurred during an accident, injury and death, costs of the damages, lost or delayed bagages or all other personal setbacks, dissapointment, conflit and/ or mental or physical concerns.

General contest rules

  1. If the winners are 18 years old and under, they must obtain a written authorization from their parents or legal tutor and must be accompanied by an adult in order to benefit from the package.
  2. A person for whom a publicity contest is carried on, his employee, representative or agent, a member of the jury and the persons with whom they are domiciled may not enter the contest.
  3. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling.
  4. There is no skill-testing requirement that a winner has to satisfy in order to claim his prize but in order to be eligible for the contest the Twins must register for the Twins Parade and be present during the Twins parade.
  5. Varia:
    • All submission become the property of the Just for Laughs Festival and will not be returned.
    • All entries are subject to verification by contest organisers. Incomplete or fraudulent entries will automatically disqualified and will ineligible for the prize. In which case, contest organiser will make another selection. The decision of the organiser is final and indisputable. The organisers have the righ to disqualify anyone holding more than one entry.
    • The prize winner must consent if required that his name and/or his picture can be used for contest publicity with no compensation.
    • Prizes are awarded as and cannot be exchanged for money (no cash value) and non-transferable. No substitutions are allowed.
    • The winner may be required to sign a document attesting their eligibility to participate in the contest.
    • The refusal to accept the prize, frees the Just for Laughs Festival from all obligations related the prize.
    • The Just for Laughs Festival takes no responsibility, no matter the nature, in all cases where it's inability to assist results, in a case or situation outside their control, including bankruptcy or closing of partner companies whose services were used part of the contest.
